This is a Dendrobium Orchid. It is a sympodial orchid. Dendrobium are mostly epiphytic (tree-growing or lithophytic (rock-growing). The word dendrobium is derived from the ancient Greek word dendron meaning “tree” and the word “bios” meaning “life”. There are around 1200 different Dendrobium species in the family Orchidaceae.
